1. Reason for Policy

The purpose of the training session will be to review the Spectator Policy, become aware of the etiquette, expectations and what things are permitted while viewing play.

2. Policy Statement

Spectators are welcome and encouraged to watch their junior golfer, however, all spectators must attend a training session prior to becoming a spectator on the course at any Junior Tour events.

3. Scope

This policy applies to individuals who wish to become spectators at any Junior Tour Events at Golf NL, unless stated otherwise. This policy will be adhered to for the duration of the competition.

4. Procedures

  • A. Attendees will be required to sign and date the Spectator Policy and will receive a copy for their reference. 
  • B. All spectators are required to walk in the “rough” areas of the course and to stay a minimum distance of 30 yards behind the last players in a group. 
  • C. Please turn off cell phones and pagers.
  • D. Spectators are not permitted on the Tee Box, putting area or in the fairway at any time. 
  • E. Spectators are not permitted to communicate with any junior golfer during the competition. You may clap and encourage the junior player. 
  • F. Spectators may not assist with ball searches at any time. 
  • G. Spectators are not permitted withing 30 yards of the Scoring and Starting Areas. 
  • H. The competition means 1) form the first tee to completion of play and 2) until the junior golfer has returned his/her scorecard. 
  • I. If there are any issues, a spectator should contact a Rules Referee or the Event Director.

5. Enforcement

If there is any breach of this policy, the spectator will be asked to leave immediately and not permitted to view any competitions hosted by Golf NL for the remainder of the season.
