Snow & Allen Win Harmon Seaside Links Junior Invitational
July 13, 2023Stephenville, NL. Despite a delay due to an injury on the golf course, play at the initial event to start the 2023 Tely Tour kicked off at Harmon Seaside Links in Stephenville with calm winds and partial cloud cover. Golf NL was pleased to have Golf NL Hall Of Fame member, George Chaulk as an Honorary Starter, with Past President of Golf NL Janine Fraser on hand to present the awards at the closing ceremonies.
Philip Snow of Glendenning recorded a 5 over par 77 victory over Junior Provincial champion Daniel Sharpe of Blomidon Golf Club who carded an 8 over par 80. Harmon Seaside Links member Noah Belliveau claimed third in the Boys Junior Division with a score of 92.
In the Boys Juvenile Division, Keegan Pender of Pippy Park Golf Club recorded an 84 to take the tile while Kethan Hooper of Glendenning Golf carded a 98 and second place. Rounding out the top three was Drew Park of Humber River Golf Club recording a 101.
Griffin Abbott of Humber River Golf Club captured the Bantam Division title with a score of 42 with first-time Tely Tour competitor Logan Skinner of Blomidon Golf Club carding a 45 and only 3 strokes behind Abbott, Jake Stokes of Harmon took third place with a score of 52.
In the girls’ divisions, 2021 and 2022 Tely Tour Junior Girl Champion, Paige Allen from Blomidon Golf Club finished with a score of 84 for the top position in the Junior Division while her sister, Rosie Allen placed second with a score of 90. In third place was Kali Gill of Blomidon who carded a 102.
Sarah Peyton of Humber River Golf Club won the Bantam Girls Division recording a score of 50 with Adelyn Kelly of Blomidon Golf Club capturing second place with a 9-hole score of 70.
