Deer Lake, NL—With sunny skies, a little breeze and warm temperatures, players were treated to excellent course conditions for the second round of the 2021 Royal LePage Provincial Junior Championships.
In the Girls Division, ten-year-old twin sisters Freya Snook and Mila Snook lead the division with Freya carding 80 for a two day total of 159 to hold a 6-stroke lead over her sister with both girls’ members of Bally Haly Country Club. Sanjana Gullipalli of Clovelly sits in third place with a two-day total of 183.
In the Junior Boys Division, Ethan Efford of Bally Haly Country Club recorded a 2 under par front 9 but settled for a round of 78 for a two-day total of 154 at extend his lead to 7 strokes over fellow club member Ryan Holwell. Jacob Hatcher of Harmon Seaside Links in Stephenville rounds out the top three in the division carding a 115 for the day.
In the Boys Juvenile Division, Jack MacHardy of Grand Falls Golf Club carded an 88 for a two-day total of 178 to take over sole possession of first place from day 1 leader Karsen Best by 6 strokes, while Evan Snow of Gander Golf Club recorded at 87 for a two-day total of 192 to retain third place.
Sam Fisher of Clovelly carded a 91 to move into first place with a two-day total of 184. James Mitchell of Grande Meadows golf Club and Daniel Sharpe of Blomidon are tied for second with a two-day total of 1919. After finishing in first place on day 1, Lucan Meade of Clovelly fines himself 5 strokes of the podium.
The final day of competition will begin at 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday. The awards presentation in the eligible divisions will take place at 2:00 P.M. outside, weather permitting.
