Gander, NL…..Gander Golf Club provided a very scenic background for the hosting of the Gander Junior Open on Tuesday, July 27th as part of the Tely Junior Tour. In the Boys Junior Division, Ryan Holwell of Bally Haly Country Club carded a 1 over par 71 to claim the title with a 10 stroke win over Caleb Reid of Grand Falls Golf Club. Benjamin Oldford, also from Grand Falls, placed third with a score of 87.
In the Boys Juvenile Division, Noah Belliveau of Harmon Seaside Links earned his second consecutive divisional crown with a 4-stroke victory over Sam Fisher of Clovelly. Belliveau carded an 82 to secure the top spot. Daniel Sharpe of Blomidon Golf Club took third place with a score of 88, In Boys Bantam Division, Sam Boone of Grand Falls carded a 42 and secured top spot by 1 stroke over first-time competitor Keegan Pender of Glendenning Golf, Owen Dunford of Bally Haly took third place with a score of 45
Freya Snook of Bally Haly Country Club captured her first Bantam Girls divisional title carding a 39 and a 1 stroke victory of four-time winner Mila Snook, Rosie Allen of Blomidon Golf Club took third place with a score of 50. Paige Allen continued her winning streak with her fifth consecutive Junior Division title recording a score of 90 while fellow club member Brooklyn Stride finished in second.
The next event on the Tely Junior Tour will be held on Thursday, July 29th at Pitcher’s Pond Golf Course in Whiteway..
