St.John’s , NL…. The RMS High School Golf Championships will take place on Friday, September 22nd at Glendenning Golf Course in St.John’s. This annual tournament supported by Golf NL in partnership with RMS and school sponsor Holy Heart High School invites high school students from across the province to compete in individual and team stroke play competitions.
More than 70 students will participate on Friday with the girls division competing in a 9 hole format and the boys division in an 18 hole event. There will be awards for the top Male and Female winner. The team competition will be comprised of four players per team representing their school, with the top team capturing the Wedgwood Cup in the girls division and Ted Withers Boys Championship Trophy presented to the winning boys team.
2022 overall champions Greta Colford of Gonzaga and Philip Snow of O’Donnell High will be back to defeat their individual titles as well as try to capture their second consecutive team championship. The event will see competitors from eleven (11) schools from the Eastern and Avalon regions of the province. Golfers will tee off at 10:00 am with the awards ceremony being held in the clubhouse following play.
This event is a great way for students to experience the game of golf while building team spirit, enjoying the fresh air and partaking in physical activity. Golf NL would like to thank our overall sponsor RMS for their support of this event and the host course Glendenning Golf.
