Efford and Snook Lead 2022 Royal LePage Provincial Junior Championships

After an hour delay due to foggy conditions with poor visibility, players were provided with excellent course conditions for the opening round of competition at the 2022 Royal LePage Provincial Junior Championships on the The Wilds Golf Course in Salmonier.

In the overall Boys’ Junior Division, 2021 Junior Champion Ethan Efford of Bally Haly Country Club carded a 2 over par 72 to hold a 7-stroke lead over fellow club member Ryan Holwell. Karsen Best, also of Bally Haly Country Club, rounds out the top three in the division with just 1 stroke behind Holwell.

In the Boys’ Juvenile Division, James Mitchell of Grande Meadows Golf Club carded an 89 and holds a 1-stroke lead over Sam Fisher of Bally Haly Country Club, while Daniel Sharpe of Blomidon Golf Club and Griffin Gallant are tied for third with a score of 91—just 2 strokes off the leader heading into day two of competition.

Lucan Meade of Bally Haly Country Club recorded a score of 95 to lead the Bantam Boys’ division with a 7-stroke lead over Keegan Pender of Pippy Park Golf Club.

In the overall Girls’ Division, Mila Snook carded an 80 to hold a 3-stroke lead over Sanjana Gullipalli, and she is 5 strokes ahead of her twin sister (and 2021 Junior Champion) Freya Snook. Mila Snook also leads the Bantam Girls’ Division with Freya Snook in second place, followed by Rosie Allen of Blomidon Golf Club.
