With superb course conditions, sunny skies, and a slight breeze, the 2022 Tely Junior Tour hosted its eighth event, the Future Shooters Showdown, at The Wilds in Salmonier. Declan Flynn of Glendenning Golf carded an 84 to win his second consecutive Juvenile Boys’ Division title, 7 strokes over Griffen Gallant of Bally Haly who placed second. Keegan Pender of Pippy Park Golf Course placed third with a score of 103.
Roirdan Flynn of The Willows recorded a 52, capturing his second consecutive divisional title with a 12-stroke win over Michael Rowsell of Glendenning Golf. Evan Gulliver of Pitcher’s Pond placed third with a score of 60.
In the Junior Boys’ division, Karsen Best of Bally Haly Country Club picked up his fifth divisional win, carding a 90 and a 3-stroke win over John Park of Brookside Golf Course. Adam Currie of Terra Nova Golf Resort recorded a 94 to place third.
At the closing awards luncheon, Golf NL thanked the host course, staff and management, the volunteers, title sponsor The Telegram, and contributing partners RMS, Browning Harvey, and Taylormade for their support of junior golf and the Tely Junior Tour.
