Both lead wire to wire to capture crowns:
Port Blandford, NL…Alan Masters of Blomidon Golf & Country Club take a commanding 10 stroke lead into the final round of the 36-hole Super Senior Champion and carded an 88 to record a two-day total of 165 and a 6-stroke win over Tony Flood of Glendenning Golf. Flood carded an 84 for a total of 171. 2019 Super Senior champion, Wayne Ford secured a third-place finish with a total score of 174.
Bobbie Boland of Bally Haly Country Club captured the Ladies Super Senior Division recording a two-day total of 182 with a 3-stroke win over 2019 Super Seniors Champion, Sherilyn Beaton also of Bally Haly. Wendy Chaulk, another Bally Haly member carded a round of 102 to secure third place in the 36-hole competition.
Day two of the Men’s Amateur competition saw a major shift in the leaderboard as five individuals T1 with a two-day total of 152. Round one co-leader Jaron Flynn of Bally Haly remains the only individual from the first day of competition to remain tied for the lead which includes Ryan MacNeil Lamswood of Harmon seaside Links, Adam Howse from Terra Nova Resort and C.J. Nolan and Mike Furlong both from Bally Haly. The final day should provide plenty of excitement as there are also six other players within 4 strokes of the leaders.
In the Mid-Amateur Division, C.J. Nolan, Mike Furlong, Jaron Flynn and Adam Howse share the lead with four other players just 4 strokes off the pace. 2019 Senior Championship Chuck Conley of Bally Haly remains atop the Senior Division recording a two-day total of 156 and a slim 1-stroke lead over Steve Snow of Clovelly. Eddie Bearns of Bally Haly rounds out the top three in the division, carding an 84 for a two-day total of 161.
Taylor Cormier of Blomidon Golf Club recorded the low round of the day in the Ladies’ divisions, an 84 to increase her lead in the Ladies amateur Division by 12 strokes over 2019 Amateur Champion Kathleen Jean of Harmon Seaside Links. Kelly Brown of Bally Haly Country Club moved into third place recording a 93 for a two-day total of 189.
Janet Mills of Bally Haly maintained her 4-stroke lead after day two, carding a 92 for a two-day total of 178 in the Ladies Mid-Amateur Division over Deborah Delaney of Glendenning Golf and Kathleen Jean with identical two-day totals of 182. In the Senior Division, Mills again leads that division with a 4-stroke lead over Bobbie Boland of Bally Haly and 2019 Senior champion Kathleen Jean.
The final round is scheduled to begin at 7:00 A.M. with the awards presentations for the Ladies scheduled for 1:00 P..M. and the Mens’ presentations planned for 8:00 P.M., both at the Clubhouse.
