Under smoky, rainy, and cloudy weather conditions, the fourth stop on the 2022 Tely Junior Tour took place at the Grand Falls Golf Club on Monday July 25th.
Karsen Best of Bally Haly Country Club continued his dominance of the Junior Boys’ Division, winning his fourth consecutive divisional title with a score of 79 and a 1-stroke win over Caleb Reid of host Grand Falls Golf Club. Noah Belliveau of Harmon Seaside Links claimed third place with a score of 84.
In the Bantam Girls’ Division, Humber River Golf Club member Sarah Peyton recorded a 57, capturing top honors.
In the Boys’ Bantam Division, first year competitor Benjamin Hutchings of Grand Falls Golf Club tied with club mate Jaden Reid with a score of 44. However, Hutchings captured the title through the retrogression process. Mason Gale of Humber River Golf Club carded a 45, claiming third place.
James Mitchell of Grande Meadows Golf Club recorded an 85 to secure his first title in the Boys’ Juvenile Division. Keegan Pender of Pippy Park Golf Club and Carter Dwyer of Grand Falls Golf Club tied for second place with a score of 104, however Pender took second place through the retrogression process.
At the closing awards luncheon, Golf NL thanked the host course, staff and management, the volunteers, title sponsor The Telegram, and contributing partners, RMS, Browning Harvey and Taylormade.
