Efford and Gullipalli Win Junior Skills Challenge Qualifiers at Provincials

Deer Lake, NL—As part of the practice round at the 2021 Royal LePage Provincial Junior Championships held on Sunday July 4th, Ethan Efford of Bally Haly Country Club recorded the high score of the day, a 270 to win the junior title of the Provincial Skills Challenge Qualifier. Sanjana Gullipalli of Clovelly won the Girls under 14 Division recording a score of 240.em

In the Boys under 15 Division, Lucan Meade of Clovelly scored a 255 to capture the Division while Owen Dunford of Bally Haly Country Club recorded a total score of 175 to win the Boys Under 11 title. Freya Snook recorded a 230 to win the Girls 11 and under Division.

The Junior Skills Challenge is an online and interactive program, designed to focuses on developing the key golf skills of putting, chipping and driving. The objective of the program is to develop key golf skills, while serving as an important introduction to competition. The players scores for each component of the event are entered to the National Leaderboard where participants can track their results to see how they measure up to other players in their age category across their own province or across Canada.

This year, each province will host a Provincial Qualifier and scores from these events will be applied to the 2021 National Leaderboard. National Event. On Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 12:00pm ET, Golf Canada will select the top four (4) ranked players in each age and gender category and invite them to compete in the 2021 Golf Canada Junior Skills Challenge National Event. The date and location of the National Event is to be announced.
