Golf Newfoundland Labrador (Golf NL) is the governing body of amateur golf in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. Golf NL is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of ten individuals who serve for a maximum of two, two-year terms. The day-to-day operations of the association are currently conducted by the Executive Director. Golf NL has approximately 2,800 individual members and 17 clubs. Golf Newfoundland Labrador’s head office is located in Paradise, NL.

(i) Manage the day-to-day affairs of the Golf NL office;
(ii) Report directly to the President of Golf NL;
(iii) Develop long-term and short-term goals to carry out Golf NL strategic objectives as identified by the Board of Directors of Golf NL;
(iv) Is aware of significant developments and trends in the golf industry.
(i) Comply with the Constitution, By-Laws, Regulations and instructions issued by Golf NL and its Executive;
(ii) Organize and coordinate all regular and special meetings of Golf NL and its committees; attend as required;
(iii) Supervise and direct the activities of any other personnel employed by Golf NL;
(iv) Submit a weekly report on the activities of the office to the Board and annually to the Annual General Meeting;
(v) In consultation with the President, Executive and Board, review, update and evaluate the operational goals of the office;
(vi) Maintain the records of all Golf NL activities;
(vii) Keep a log of all activities performed;
(viii) Develop and update a Golf NL Policies and Procedures Manual;
(ix) Other duties as might be required from timer to time
(i) Prepare yearly budgets in conjunction with Golf NL’s Treasurer;
(ii) In association with the Treasurer, monitor revenue and expenditures against approved budgets;
(iii) The Executive Director should approve/process all expenses;
(iv) Complete applications and other documentation for grants and subsidies from government and other sources of funding;
(v) Ensure maintenance of all financial records in conjunction with the Treasurer, including presentation of monthly Financial Statements for Executive Committee review, and Annual Statement for Board of Directors review
(i) Promote the interests of Golf NL throughout the Province and assist in growing the game;
(ii) Liaise with other provincial golf and marketing associations;
(iii) Actively pursue sponsorship agreements that will benefit Golf NL;
(iv) Prepare press releases for activities, events and tournaments.
(v) Management of social media i.e. Facebook, Twitter, website
Tournaments and Team Members:
(i) Prepare and maintain a provincial tournament schedule;
(ii) Correspond with host clubs to ensure appropriate arrangements and agreements are in effect for Provincial, Atlantic and National tournaments as required;
(iii) In consultation with the Provincial Rules Director and the local Tournament Chairperson, prepare and publicize draws for provincial tournaments;
(iv) Assist tournament chairs in the operation of individual tournaments;
(v) Prepare press releases after each competitive round of a tournament.
(i) Ensure the Board is kept informed on matters that may affect Golf NL;
(ii) Ensure that Board members and members are aware of growth opportunities;
(iii) Create positive relationships with the membership courses;
(iv) Perform club visits annually and on an as required or requested basis;
(v) Respond in a timely fashion to communications from the membership;
(vi) Assist and organize provincial rules seminars in consultation with the Rules Director;
(vii) Work with Course Rating Director to ensure certification in course rating;
(viii) Ensure that the Golf NL website is maintained and updated on a regular basis.
(i) Work with the Technical Director to administer and operate Golf NL’s Junior Programs;
(ii) Assist in the planning of junior planning seminars;
(iii) Oversee all junior programs.
(i) Promote and attract corporate sponsorship;
(ii) Develop and deliver marketing initiatives for Golf NL;
(iv) Develop rapport with all provincial media;
(v) Develop and update a marketing plan for Golf NL.
(i) Liaise with Golf Canada; attend Golf Canada meetings as required
(ii) Liaise with provincial departments and agencies such as Sports NL
(iii) Responsible for the safe keeping and maintenance of all Golf NL equipment and supplies;
(iv) Responsible for the safe keeping and maintenance of all Golf NL records;
(v) Order materials and supplies as requested and approved
