Course Opening – Program Update
I trust you and your family are staying safe.
Golf Newfoundland Labrador(Golf NL), and its members are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our golfers, staff, volunteers and industry stakeholders as well as every member of our global community. The COVID-19 crisis is an unprecedented and difficult time for all Canadians.
Golf NL and its members fully supports the recommendations and guidelines of Health Canada, the World Health Organization and regional public health experts to stop the community spread of this virus.
During the past two months Golf NL has been working with members to disseminate information on programs, services and funding opportunities and to keep them abreast of developments. One of the main focuses has been to ensure members can access facilities to maintain property and to correspond with government on the re-opening of courses in the initial stages of activating the economy. Both of these have seen success. In fact, golf will begin on Monday May 11th under a number of guidelines as set forth by the Health Department.
Golf NL continues to monitor the progress of events and while individual lessons, league play and tournaments are prohibited at this time, there is the potential to have this guidelines amended based on positive results moving forward. While registration for various programs and competitions remain close, when tournament or other activity guidelines are lifted, Golf NL will review and determine the next course of action in planning the return to some form of normalcy.
In the meantime, stay safe, practice social distancing, enjoy access to golf courses beginning on May 11th and if you have any questions do not hesitate to call our office at 631-3102 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
