Annual Awards

Each year, Golf NL celebrates the outstanding achievements of our members through an annual awards program.

These awards not only recognize individual and organizational excellence but also encourage the spirit of sportsmanship and community involvement.

Executive Member of the Year

Presented to an individual who has contributed to the development and sustainability of a golf course in the province. This award is only open to members of the Board of Directors of a golf course.

Employee of the Year

Presented to an employee of a golf course who has demonstrated exceptional service, dedication, and commitment to the betterment of the golf community.

Volunteer of the Year

Presented to an individual who has given free of their time to assist in the operation of programs and services at a golf course and has not received any compensation or remuneration for these activities.

The following two awards are selected by Golf NL in consultation with the Hall of Fame committee, Board of Directors and Golf NL members:

Golf Course of the Year

Presented to a golf course in the province that has made significant contributions towards the promotion and development of golf. Criteria include hosting top events, engaging in junior programs, enhancing the course, and boosting membership.

Referee Award

Presented annually to acknowledge a dedicated referee who has been responsible for officiating golfing events at any level. This award highlights an individual’s commitment to leadership, local golf development and promotion of fair play and ethical behaviour.

Golf NL recognizes the top NL golfers each season through an Order of Merit points system based on their performance at competitions around the province in the following categories:

Junior Female Golfer of the Year
Junior Male Golfer of the Year
Outstanding Female Golfer of the Year
Outstanding Male Golfer of the Year
