2011 Golf Draw Winners Announced

Golf Newfoundland Labrador (GNL) and the Newfoundland Labrador Golf Association (NLGA) held the 2011 Golf Draw on Thursday July 14th. at The Wilds Golf Resort in Salmonier. This event was held in conjunction with the closing ceremonies and awards presentation of the 2011 Provincial Junior Chmapionships.

Prior to the draw, Executive Director, Greg Hillier noted that 519 tickets of the 2000 were sold and that approximately $6,000.00 was raised (after expenses) to support various golf related programs throughout the province. The draw consisted of a total of four prizes and a sellers prize for each winning ticket.

The grand prize of 38 rounds of golf, 4 nights accommodation, and a domestic flight for two aboard Provincial Airlines was won by Keith Renouf of St. John's, his winning ticket was sold by Jan Peters. The second place prize of a set of Titliest golf clubs was won by Brian Tuck of Carbonear and the winning ticket was sold by the Pitcher's Pond Golf Club.

The third prize of two nights accommodation at Super 8 St. John;s and two rounds of golf at Bally Haly Golf & Curling Club and two rounds at Clovelly Golf was won by Maureen Baker of Goose Bay and the sellers prize went to Tyler Baker. The final prize of two rounds of golf at Clovelly Golf and one night accommodation at Super 8 St. John's was won by Greg Walsh of Logy Bay. Greg purchased his ticket at Pippy Park Golf Course.

The NLGA and GNL would like to thank all of the individuals that supported this initiative, the junior players and golf courses that took the initiative to sell tickets and the sponsors of the program, namely Clovelly Golf, Bally Haly Golf & Curling Club, other member clubs, Super 8 St. John's and Provincial Airlines.
